For those who live in the West London area will know that at one point Southall was the hub of the Heroin trade but it now seems that with the boom of marijuana around the world especially the USA giving it so much exposure it is inevitable that the demand will increase.

On Hammond Road in Southall the police busted a house that was growing about 40 marijuana plants and also three garages in the back fully equiped with hydroponic systems also growing more marijuana plants.

Only one man was arrested but is on bail and now the real question is, just how big is the demand for marijuana? It use to be the Cocaine was the preferred drug of choice especially amongst the middle class but what we are gradually seeing is the marketing of marijuana through the legalization and buzz of the herb leading to more people in for example the UK wanting to buy it. When there is demand there has to be supply and in the UK where it is illegal to grow and posses cannabis, organised gangs will fill the void in production and distribution.

Well actually marijuana and cannabis as you all most probably know are the same thing but we have I brought up this topic? It is quite interesting to see just who uses the word marijuana and who calls it predominanlty cannabis and to test this we are going to use Google news as an indicator.

A simple search for news on the word cannabis brings up all the entries from the UK and a news search for the term marijuana brings up all entries from the USA. So although cannabis has various names each name seems to have a popular use in different countries.

I was just looking at some other marijuana sites I have and cam across a pretty interesting video on cannabis and the has trade in Morocco. Outside of US California this must be the next biggest hub for naturally grown marijuana. This video looks at the cultivation of marijuana and the main production of hash including interactive interviews with local Moroccan marijuana growers.

Its not just your little farm guys producing mj but you also get a nerve gripping insight into what a criminals field of marijuana looks like for enterprise level production of the plant.

Well such a marijuana super store is making some headlines and just gives you an idea of how much the marijuana trade could bring to the USA if it was legalized for everyone. Bills, bills, bills…… no not all those bills you are getting through your letter box and this has nothing to do with the recession. We are talking about medical marijuana bills and this month New Jersey has voted to make its state the 14th to legalize marijuana.

This comes at a point many people in NJ who suffer from critical illnesses will definetly be in favour of since they are constantly in the fear of using marijuana. Many patients have to travel to California where medical marijuana is legal however this bill which is waiting for the signature of Governer Jon Corzine will make life for these patients so much easier.

Good news also has news of the opposite nature and that is people who are against the legalization of marijuana because they feel that ill patients and the use of so-called ‘compassionate grounds’ are being ill used by marijuana activists.

People feel that the bill is simply a gateway to full legalization since many big shot marijuana brokers and farmers are leading the movement and it appears that they are simply reading $$$ in their eyes along with the tobacco companies.

Although New Jersey may legalize the substance California remains the hub of the marijuana industry since many of the farmers have perfected the art and developed strains that help alleviate certain conditions making it easier to prescribe marijuana more accurately.

Looking at the UK laws where marijuana went from class C back up-to class B, I think Americans should also consider that in the future there could be a reversal of movement especially when new governments come into play with different thought or if this good movement eventually turns America into a bigger version of Amsterdam where it may become a problem.

For now, as mentioned previously on Toke Pot the most important thing is that the correct people are getting access to the herb to help their medical condition and we can only hope that these bills are not abused by people which could cause a reversal of such changes in law.

Was just surfing around and on one of my favourite forums where there was a heated debate going on about what 2010 holds for business and someone posted a silliy comment which was given a response with this funny picture. Not sure what the post meant by this picture but it sure is funny, M&M’s chocoalte sweet with their own stash of marijuana, smoking and getting high – lol!

Hope you guys had a great Christmas and are having a fantastic new years! 2010 is no doubt going to be the year for even more marijuana so toke pot like never before, especially if you live in the US. Else where in the globe, oh well I guess everyone can just watch every one in Cali smoke and fill the whole US up with marijuana vapour making everyone bonged out.

Anyway, one of my favourite films and probably one of your too, is Scarface but one of my other fav film actually related to marijuana is Blow. A small time drug dealer (George Jung) who starts off on small bags of marijuana, then big sacks and because of his entrepreneurial skills meets up with the notorious Pablo Escobar to go big time by distributing Cocaine.

Was just watching the Simpson’s, yeah, yeah I know but still even at my age I still love the cartoon especially todays episode. Basically Homer Simpson gets attacked by shit loads of crows and almost eat out his eyes and the doctor tells him that medical marijuana can help him relieve his pains and then the rest of the show is about Homer smoking pot and being stoned.

Its amazing how medical marijuana has made its way onto a childrens show watched all around the world, is it marijuana marketing to get the word out on what medical marijuana is? Who knows but the show was real dope and although I searched through Youtube and could not find a decent uploaded video I could only find this clip with background music from Afroman, Because I got high!

While we hear of so much joy about how the US has had its first Cannabis cafe recently open, in the UK the story is very different. While the UK does not have dense jungles, wild forrests like those in say California that government is not in an emergency to legalize it for profit (tax).

In the UK most supply is still distributed via illegal drug dens and now the latest a Cannabis cafe dubbed the “hole in the wall cafe” in West Sussex which got recently raided.

This raid resulted in three drug barons being arrested, Lee Rusell, Paul Bradley and Michael Alday. However out of the three Russell was found not guilty while the other two were convicted of conspiracy to supply marijuana, at Kingston Crown Court.
