When ever you hear about people getting banged up for say possesion of marijuana or its sale, you are usually talking about street level petty crime. The big shots who you never really hear about are the real players in moving drugs like marijuana around the world or at national level and inevitably they are banking big money.
The Telegraph has recently done a picture gallery on some of the king pins and their employees about the nice luxuries they are able to buy themselves. These luxuries being labelled as “Narco Bling” range from guns designed with real gold, exotic animals and big houses.

It looks like that the Marc Emery case for being the biggest marijuana distributor in the US has actually materialized! Although the Marc dubbed as the Prince of Pot only sold marijuana seeds to his US customers the law enforcers say that they were grown making him the biggest marijuana distributor.
This is not the only charge against Marc but others such as money laundering….
Mr Emery has been fighting for many years against his extradition to the US for jail time since if he has commited a crime it should be done on Canadian soil. His battle with the US government does not have seemed to have gone in his favour and it looks like he rather end this story by accepting a 5 year jail term to which he is gearing upto by having a Marc Emery Farewell tour.

The BBC have highlighted key facts from the UN agencies latest World Drug Report 2009 and these go to show that cannabis is the most grown plants, the most used and most seized in the world!
So although you may have thought that cannabis is commonly used at a local level it is infact predominantly used in USA, Canada and Europe more than Cocaine. These facts probably reflect how easy it is to grow cannabis and because of its low harmful effects on humans compared to Cocaine, Heroin and Opium it is far more accepted and used.
