The Beatles petitioned to get Cannabis legalized back in 1967

October 29th, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

For those of you who were in your prime back in the days of the Beatles then you will have heavily been influenced by the marijuana scene. Just imagine getting high and listening to psychedelic rock that high will obviously be a twisted one and many must have enjoyed these trippy highs.

More to the point with the Beatles also having connectton to India and the hippy scene they naturally had a connection with marijuana and even it is thought that one of their songs, Norwegian Wood (This Bird has Flown), actually refers to marijuana indirectly.

Marijuana was actually introduced to the band by Bob Dylan and then on July the 24th 1967 the Beatles signed a petition in the Times to legalize it – isn’t that just great?

Not sure what would happen if someone of the same status as the Beatles did that today in the UK, however the good news for the US is that Obama seems to be the man for the MJ movement at the moment.

Business is doing well in the US medical marijuana industry but will boom when fully legalized

October 23rd, 2009 Tony Montana 1 comment

People are no doubt gearing up for the marijuana business boom that will happen if marijuana is legalized for all across the USA. Already this week the editors of Westword are looking for a marijuana dispensary reviewer to give editorial advice on the best marijuana outlets.

Already we know that the tobacco companies are ready to pounce the minute MJ is legalized and most probably all other associataed businesses such as smoking paper manufacturers, bongs designers and seed vendors.

What is interesting is that legalization will make way for the USA to produce its own varieties that otherwise come from seed bank in Holland. In the following video you will see how people are already preparing for marijuana business as is shown by Ben Holmes who is a Hedge fund manager who is investing in marijuana seeds. The interesting thing that I learnt from the video is that although I knew cannabis seeds are illegal in the US but never knew why. Well as Ben explains that it is all done by weight, stalk, leaves and seeds are all considered to be marijuana and therefore the seeds are illegal.

The other interesting points in the video are how we are moving closer to legalization since we are following the exact trend seen on how alcohol was legalized.

Great news, looks like marijuana can do alot of good especially in the hemp trade.

Good news for medical marijuana users in Cali under Obama’s new policies

October 23rd, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

New Obama’s policy proves to very good news for medical marijuana users and its dispensaries since the new policy will allow all these legit business and medical users to not be arrested. This give all the users and businesses to operate without the fear of being arrested for visiting state santioned outfits.

Millionaire UK drug gangster found guilty for Cannabis smuggling – just like in the films

October 23rd, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

Have you ever seen the film Blow? When George Jung comes out of prison and then because he has no money wants to do one more hit on distributing cocaine/heroin to earn so money but gets caught and back in prison.

Its only when you follow the marijuana industry that you get to know who is who especially the big guys. Well Curtis Warren is a big time UK gangster and millionaire who has been sentenced for a £1 million plot to smuggle Cannabis into the UK only just coming out of jail in the Netherlands.

Curtis Warren (AKA Cocky) was once reported to be worth anything between £80 million – £460 million and had even made it onto the UK rich list as a property developer which he obviously was only able to do through drug money.

Why was he serving jail time in Holland? Well he had been convicted in £100 million drug plot to only have his sentence extended because he killed an inmate. Whilst in prison he then masterminded his latest marijuana plot to use Hollands marijuana brokers to import 180Kg of marijuana to Jersey Islands but was being watched by police who had collected enough information to follow his trail when he was released to catch him again and now he is behind bars again.

Curtis Warren from Liverpool UK made many millions from drugs and even became famous that T-Shorts were sold with his printed on them. His sentencing obviously means that a small blow has been given to the UK import of cannabis as he clearly was one of the known drug traffickers to bring it into the UK.

Isn’t it funny how Cannabis is bad for you one minute and then they say its good for you?

October 23rd, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

I find it quite funny how alot of publishers one day post how marijuana is bad for you and then the following week post how it is good for you. These scientists and news publishers have been doing this for a long time and one example that I can remeber is how they say that chocolate is bad for you and then 6 months later publish how certain chemicals in chocolate can prevent heart disease. The same kind of finding from both ends of the spectrum get published about wine.

You never have these fact published consecutively in short periods of time but perhaps six months later when you have forgotten about then previous news to say it is bad for you.

Any way, this is some research publish by the BBC that I wanted to post quite a while back but only got a chance to do it today. You can view the news on the research here, it summarizes how cannabis can help prevent Osteoporosis and even reverse the process through the 1 cannabinoid receptor (CB1) binding with cannabis to cause bone regeneration.

Probably in a few months time we will have the BBC publishing the opposite but we will have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, these kind of finding are great to help legalize the use of medical marijuana across the world.

Back to California as it appears some sort of climax may be reached for legalization of marijuana

October 18th, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

If you have not already noticed California seems to be the main focal point from where marijuana will become legalized for everyone, but is it all a dream? Behind the many big headlines being published in many news article that almost give the impression that the legalization of marijuana is not that far away you will also find hidden in the stories the opposite.

Why are all the headlines pointing to California to be the first state to possibly legalize marijuana? Well because all pro-marijuana campaigners are trying to bank on the fact that the state is almost bankrupt and that marijuana is the only solution to help the state to come out of a deficit. Tom Amino has proposed taxing California’s marijuana trade which could raise approximatley $1.3 billion a year and also Arnold Schwarzenegger has suggested that it should be looked at to. These stories are exactly what the current headlines are made of almost selling a dream to all pot smokers but Barrack Obama clears a bit of the smoke by throwing a hammer in the works by saying that all of LA’s 800 marijuana dispensaries are pure commerical operation that are a cover for organized crime making the prospects of legalization a bit more lesser.

With all this commotion of legalizing marijuana for all, if it backfire then it will only leave the people who really need the substance for medical conditions to suffer. Also although legalizing the drug is being fought to help these people with medical conditions the fact that big tobacco companies have come into the picture to sell their products only dampens the possiblity of all this happening. On the one hand you have the people trying to gain access to marijuana without the fear of prosecution (still illegal according to US Federal law) and then you have tobacco companies also wanting to take advantage and make profits possibly countering the good that marijuana has to offer in the first place.

So this month so far has been big headlines with big dreams and small prints being missed to suggest otherwise.

Wisconsin’s biggest marijuana plant operation found and closed

October 18th, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

This is Wisconsin’s biggest marijuana operation that was found in the Navarino States’ Wildlife Area and almost most 8,000 plants were taken and the setup shut down.

It looks like although this marijuana grow op was closed down it only was found by chance but seems like many mj setups of this size go unnoticed in heavy grow lands and are successful.

This one was funny, dealer caught with Marijuana stuck to his head!

October 18th, 2009 Tony Montana 1 comment

Well apparently hidding your marijuana stash under you cap is a common place to hide it although I have never heard of any one doing it. Cesar Lopez a 29 year old got nabbed by the cops when he took off his cap and cops saw that he had marijuana stuck on his forehead.

Next time it might be worth putting a small stash of weed in your pants underneath your cock.

Bushman – Cannabis Ragga Track – Totally Dope Tune

October 18th, 2009 Tony Montana No comments

The original – cannabis – it cures sickness – says Bushman in the ragga track. This is a pretty cool music video covering the good benefits cannabis has. Nice mellow tune to listen to when bonged. You guys know of any other hot tracks to listen to when bonged… they do not have to be about marijuana but just dope tunes to crash out on.

Thanks

The Prince of Pot Marc Emery Hand Over to The USA This Saturday

October 3rd, 2009 Tony Montana 3 comments

If you have been following The Prince of Pot (Marc Emery) story you will know that for many years there has been many political battles between him and the USA. The story start with Marc Emery opening an online Cannabis seed store and profiting in millions of dollars which he then recycled back into the Marijuana movement. Marc Emery is not only an inspiration to those fighting for the legalization of Marijuana but also those who see him as a great business man since his entreprenurial skills started at the age of only 17.

So how has the chapter in the Marc Emery story come to a sudden close with him having to probably serve a full 5 years behind bars in the USA for his crime that took place in Canada? His offence for selling Cannabis seeds through the Canadian law system would have only cost him a month in jail but because he has been shipping illegally to the USA he is expected to do 5 years because the US politicians see him as a king pin in the production of marijauna in the US at a very large scale. However to this day there are many online cannabis stores that are selling seeds to the US and are not seeing such harsh moves to put them behind bars too!

This only leaves the possibility for the reason of his harsh sentence being that he could be used as an example for what might happen to you for breaking US law or probably because he took to politics and taunted the US openly and they just had enough?

Regardless of Marc Emery’s good nature to fight for the cause of marijuana legalization through his cannabis seed profits, he was doing so knowing that he was breaking US law but probably never imagined that he would be looking at a 5 year stretch in jail although the US wanted him behind for a possible 50 years. It was only when Emery realised that this had become very serious and the it could mean that his team at Cannabis Culture would also face a criminal prosecution that he has been able to secure a deal with the US to hand him self over for a 5 year term which would not involve his business partners Gregory Keith Williams and Michelle Rainey-Fenkarek.

Although he has been able to settle for this hand over deal the prison sentance is in line with what a serious criminal would face in the US and then it leaves the question of whether even this 5 year sentence is appropriate? One thing is for sure that the entire case is based more upon political chess between Emery and the US which has led to the pressure building up on him and having to give himself in.

If you would like to give Marc Emery support before he is extradited to the US, you can go and join his vigil at: North Fraser Pretrial, 1451 Kingsway Avenue, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia this Saturday October the 3rd 2009 between 2-4pm

Lets just hope the US changed their view on holding Marc Emery in an already crowded prison and give him an early release and concentrate their efforts on finding real criminals. What could Marc Emery take away from this experience? Perhaps not to play politics with the US as you cannot win as is shown with the UK hacker Gary McKinnon case who also is fighting against his extradition.
