If Prop 19 passed in November, it would be void anyway! So there is no way of legalizing pot!

Isn’t this just all mind games at the end of the day or should I say “show the donkey a carrot and you can lead it any where!”? Lets say you legalize pot as in its officially written in the books by the government but yet Federal law still sees it as illegal, then although you maybe able to party about pot being legal you still end up in jail……… so are you going to be any better off with marijuana being legalized?

With Arnie having already decrimalized possesion of small amounts of marijuana, is that not enough?

Put it this way, the marijuana patients now have access to medical marijuana which ofcourse was the most important thing and now even recreational users can walk around with a small quantity of pot and not get thrown into jail since Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bill 1449 — which reduces adult marijuana possession charges from a criminal misdemeanor to a civil infraction. So is this not enough?

If you legalize marijuana then then it will go into the control of government hands since they will want to tax it and therefore simply tighten the noose on the marijuana freedoms you already have! Legalization would definetly mean possibly hike marijuana prices rather than cheap marijuana since you would have the addition of tax and also even more harsher laws because you would only be able to be from government authorized marijuana wholesalers/outlets!

The Mexican cartels will still be at large trying to sell tax free black market marijuana – so it does not look like you can end the control (war) on marijuana unlike say whiskey which is far more easier to manage from a regulation point of view because it is a liquid requiring specialist knowledge to produce it. After all you would not drink whiskey that you bought of a dealer who made it in their bath tub would you? But with marijuana you have no way of telling where it has come from or what is inside it therefore you have the regulation issue which in it self proves that taxing marijuna will be difficult too!

Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger has lashed out at California’s biggest union for backing the November’s Proposition 19 ballot to legalize marijuana. Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote an opinion article for Friday’s Los Angeles Times, saying that this flawed initiative would make the state California a laughingstock, cause legal nightmares and risk public safety.

Arnold Schwarzenegger criticized the 700,000-member Service Employees International Union, which has said the plan could bring needed tax income.

Back to California as it appears some sort of climax may be reached for legalization of marijuana

If you have not already noticed California seems to be the main focal point from where marijuana will become legalized for everyone, but is it all a dream? Behind the many big headlines being published in many news article that almost give the impression that the legalization of marijuana is not that far away you will also find hidden in the stories the opposite.

Why are all the headlines pointing to California to be the first state to possibly legalize marijuana? Well because all pro-marijuana campaigners are trying to bank on the fact that the state is almost bankrupt and that marijuana is the only solution to help the state to come out of a deficit. Tom Amino has proposed taxing California’s marijuana trade which could raise approximatley $1.3 billion a year and also Arnold Schwarzenegger has suggested that it should be looked at to. These stories are exactly what the current headlines are made of almost selling a dream to all pot smokers but Barrack Obama clears a bit of the smoke by throwing a hammer in the works by saying that all of LA’s 800 marijuana dispensaries are pure commerical operation that are a cover for organized crime making the prospects of legalization a bit more lesser.

With all this commotion of legalizing marijuana for all, if it backfire then it will only leave the people who really need the substance for medical conditions to suffer. Also although legalizing the drug is being fought to help these people with medical conditions the fact that big tobacco companies have come into the picture to sell their products only dampens the possiblity of all this happening. On the one hand you have the people trying to gain access to marijuana without the fear of prosecution (still illegal according to US Federal law) and then you have tobacco companies also wanting to take advantage and make profits possibly countering the good that marijuana has to offer in the first place.

So this month so far has been big headlines with big dreams and small prints being missed to suggest otherwise.
