The Prince of Pot Marc Emery Hand Over to The USA This Saturday

If you have been following The Prince of Pot (Marc Emery) story you will know that for many years there has been many political battles between him and the USA. The story start with Marc Emery opening an online Cannabis seed store and profiting in millions of dollars which he then recycled back into the Marijuana movement. Marc Emery is not only an inspiration to those fighting for the legalization of Marijuana but also those who see him as a great business man since his entreprenurial skills started at the age of only 17.

So how has the chapter in the Marc Emery story come to a sudden close with him having to probably serve a full 5 years behind bars in the USA for his crime that took place in Canada? His offence for selling Cannabis seeds through the Canadian law system would have only cost him a month in jail but because he has been shipping illegally to the USA he is expected to do 5 years because the US politicians see him as a king pin in the production of marijauna in the US at a very large scale. However to this day there are many online cannabis stores that are selling seeds to the US and are not seeing such harsh moves to put them behind bars too!

This only leaves the possibility for the reason of his harsh sentence being that he could be used as an example for what might happen to you for breaking US law or probably because he took to politics and taunted the US openly and they just had enough?

Regardless of Marc Emery’s good nature to fight for the cause of marijuana legalization through his cannabis seed profits, he was doing so knowing that he was breaking US law but probably never imagined that he would be looking at a 5 year stretch in jail although the US wanted him behind for a possible 50 years. It was only when Emery realised that this had become very serious and the it could mean that his team at Cannabis Culture would also face a criminal prosecution that he has been able to secure a deal with the US to hand him self over for a 5 year term which would not involve his business partners Gregory Keith Williams and Michelle Rainey-Fenkarek.

Although he has been able to settle for this hand over deal the prison sentance is in line with what a serious criminal would face in the US and then it leaves the question of whether even this 5 year sentence is appropriate? One thing is for sure that the entire case is based more upon political chess between Emery and the US which has led to the pressure building up on him and having to give himself in.

If you would like to give Marc Emery support before he is extradited to the US, you can go and join his vigil at: North Fraser Pretrial, 1451 Kingsway Avenue, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia this Saturday October the 3rd 2009 between 2-4pm

Lets just hope the US changed their view on holding Marc Emery in an already crowded prison and give him an early release and concentrate their efforts on finding real criminals. What could Marc Emery take away from this experience? Perhaps not to play politics with the US as you cannot win as is shown with the UK hacker Gary McKinnon case who also is fighting against his extradition.

Marc Emery of Cannabis Culture Decides To Go On A Farewell Tour Before Jail Time

July 29th, 2009 Tony Montana 1 comment

It looks like that the Marc Emery case for being the biggest marijuana distributor in the US has actually materialized! Although the Marc dubbed as the Prince of Pot only sold marijuana seeds to his US customers the law enforcers say that they were grown making him the biggest marijuana distributor.

This is not the only charge against Marc but others such as money laundering….

Mr Emery has been fighting for many years against his extradition to the US for jail time since if he has commited a crime it should be done on Canadian soil. His battle with the US government does not have seemed to have gone in his favour and it looks like he rather end this story by accepting a 5 year jail term to which he is gearing upto by having a Marc Emery Farewell tour.
