California law makers still divided in what to do about marijuana

Although the state of California has legalized the use of marijuana for medical purposes it still has not been able to effectively tackle criminal marijuana distribution through the cartels and drug gangs.

On the one hand it is clear the Californian voters need to lighten up on this so called war on drugs as many agree that it simply has not worked and instead let the state profit from legalized distribution to reduce debt and to use the money to also fend of criminal distrubution. When a drug dealer sells to his clients he does not ask for id and this is where the governments marijuana scheme is proposing that it has ways to tackle marijuana getting into the wrong hands.

On the other side of the table people are still arguing that legaliziation will lead to more problems like drug driving and the general public who may be intoxicated on the substance becoming a hazard to the general public and also the need to spend more money on health care because of the marijuana health problems they may face.

One thing is clear for every argument being put forward for and against you can always find another arument to counter them and that probably where the problem is intrying to pass and law to make marijuana legal to everyone.

California’s governer Arnold Schwarzenegger does not want to terminate marijuana

“It’s time to debate” – is what the governer of California Arnold Schwarzenneger has recently said in a speech this week. California is the American state that is producing the most amount of marijuana and has become it number one cash crop, over taking the production of its other quality products such as wine.

The question is why has all of a sudden Schwarzenneger given a hint to the possibility of legalizing marijuana? Is it becuase we are in a recession and it has becoming tempting to legalize and tax marijuana to generate more money for the state? Is it because more and more pro marijuana activists are pilling on the pressure to governers that instead of Schwarzenneger fighting back he has said lets debate but with the intent of not legalizing mj and only to pass time in a diplomatic fashion?

Although their seems to be hope that marijuana will be legalized, the notion of the sole reason to do this for the benefit of generating money for the state has already been rejected as the Schwarzenneger and even Obama has said that there are other ways to do this.
